Our systemic single-use plastic abuse has got to end. Therefore, everything we do at Sjøløve are waged with one single objective – single-use plastic belongs in the museum.

Inspired by the principles of carbon capture/-storage and crowdsourcing, our work is based on our idea of crowd storage. Plastics in nature is a pollutant. It has to be collected, and stored safely.

Why not store it in our homes?

The marine plastic we can use, we wash with water, shred up and melt down in an oven – in hand-welded molds of our own creation. The molds are opened, the objects trimmed, cold-worked and quality checked.

The result is something brand new – both in appearance and connotation.
